Head Coach was founded on the belief that elite level performance is “90% mental and 10% physical”. We work with young athletes, aspiring professionals and coaches to build the mindset that separates good performers from great ones. When you understand what drives high performance early, you start seeing real shifts; clearer thinking, better decisions, and the kind of resilience that helps you stay in the game when it matters.

Dano brings over 25 years of hands-on coaching experience, backed by postgraduate qualifications in Sports Psychology, elite leadership, and high performance management. These sit alongside accreditations from Basketball Australia, and he’s a certified Gallup Strengths Coach. With additional training from the Navy Seal Foundation, the Moonshot Factory, and professional coaching psychology credentials, it's a solid foundation built on real insights and experience, not just theory.

What we genuinely love is working with driven athletes and high performers. We're good at spotting potential that people don't always see in themselves and helping them build a clearer path forward. We use proven techniques paired with a relaxed, practical coaching style; mental training should be enjoyable and effective. A snapshot of our story

The Void

I lost my father before I turned two. This would shape my entire trajectory as that early silence left a gap in my life that I spent decades trying to understand, navigate, and eventually, fill.

The Search

I loved sports and became fascinated by the impact of high level coaching on my own playing and leadership abilities, not just for the trophies or on tours, but to find the strength and guidance I felt I was missing. It was my way of finding my own footing.

The Evolution

With an academic foundation of postgraduate degrees in sports psychology and strategic leadership, I realised the lessons I needed to survive in the game were the same ones every kid needs to thrive in life.

The Legacy

I’m raising three sons of my own now. Every tool I build at Head Coach is a lesson I’m passing to them - a lesson I never got. The bridge between the father I lost and the father I am today.

Onward and Upward

As far back as I can remember, I’ve wanted to build a business that builds people. Now I want to pass this blueprint to young individuals, helping them shape their own journeys and bridge their own gaps. As the saying goes: "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together."
